8 November, 2011 – The Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, supports the call to vote for Table Mountain to become one of the New7Wonders of Nature.
As our Founder Mr Nelson Mandela said on 5 June 1998 while declaring Table Mountain as part of the Cape Peninsula National Park: “To us on Robben Island, Table Mountain was a beacon of hope. It represented the mainland to which we knew we would one day return.”
Voting closes on Friday 11 November 2011, and we urge all South Africans to support this call, which will benefit our country as a whole.
