Nelson Mandela Foundation

Service was close to Nelson Mandela’s heart. It characterises every stage of his life from activist to prisoner, to President and to pensioner.

When we launched Nelson Mandela International Day in 2009, we hoped that individuals and organisations throughout the world would ultimately make every day a Mandela Day by doing good in their own communities. His birth month of July affords us an opportunity to rally together behind his ideals and to promote his legacy.
