With race relations being a critical fault line in South Africa, a group of concerned civil society organisations has been developing the Anti-Racism Network South Africa (ARNSA) to respond to and better understand race relations in South Africa. The NMF and the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation – both with long histories of facilitating critical dialogue on issues of race relations – have partnered with other civil society organisations in this endeavour.
A series of important workshops and conferences was held earlier this year, and following this it was decided that a network is important to respond in a strategic and meaningful way.
Since August, the group has worked on developing a set of guiding principles that serves to document the ethos and vision of the ARNSA. The ARNSA will be formally launched on 14 November 2015. A broad range of stakeholders has been invited to the event, which will be held in Johannesburg.
