July 14, 2008 – The Nelson Mandela Foundation has made two new videos available on our website; the full 2008 Annual Lecture broadcast and a brief documentary about Madiba’s life.
The Sixth Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture, held in Kliptown, Soweto, on July 12, 2008, was delivered by Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Africa’s first woman president. The video is provided courtesy of the South African Broadcasting Corporation. To read the full text, or download the pdf, click here.
The second video, a 15-minute documentary, entitled Nelson Mandela’s life story, provides an excellent overview of Madiba’s history, from boyhood in the rural Transkei, to his present-day work as a leading humanitarian. Mr Mandela is now retired, but his good work can live on through us. As he said in his speech at the recent 46664 concert in Hyde Park, London, the work is now in our hands.
