On 18 July 2013, while the world celebrated Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday, students at Refithlilepele Primary School in Soshanguve, Pretoria became the proud new recipients of a Mandela Day container library.
The 29th library of its kind to open in South Africa since the launch of the container libraries project in 2011, the facility will go a long way towards inspiring a love of reading among learners (and educators).
Refithlilepele Primary School is situated in the heart of the peri-urban settlement north of Pretoria. School principal Sam Mongwe and his staff manage over 1 500 learners from Grades R to 7.
