The Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, together with the Department of Sports & Recreation and the Department of Arts & Culture, invite you to cover the launch of the Nelson Mandela Sport & Culture Day 2013.
The Nelson Mandela Sport & Culture Day is a joint programme by various partners, co-ordinated by the Department of Sports & Recreation of South Africa, to celebrate and promote the legacy of South Africa’s former President, Nelson Mandela. The programme is comprised of a series of activities that will culminate in the Sport & Culture Day on 17 August 2013, at the FNB Stadium.
The launch will include the official handover, by the Honourable Human Settlements Minister, Tokyo Sexwale, of the commemorative gift of autographed shirts on behalf of the Confederations Cup finalists, Brazil and Spain, presented by FIFA president Sepp Blatter, Brazilian Football Confederation president Jose Maria Marin and Spanish counterpart Angel Maria Villar Llona at the Confederations Cup final on Sunday, 30 June 2013, in Brazil.
