COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on families across South Africa, and globally.
Since the outbreak hit, the Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity have been supporting their communities, sharing important resources, and demanding action to address the deeply entrenched inequalities highlighted by the virus and the lockdown.
From collaborations with permaculture farmers to provide food packages to vulnerable communities to highlighting issues of data access and pressing the government to issue specific plans for how it will address the unique concerns and needs of rural communities, the Fellows are seizing the opportunity to envision and press for a better world.
