The German Academy for International Cooperation (GIZ), together with the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, will on 26 August, 2013 host a dialogue about targeting the global AIDS response and how it can and should inform the post-2015 development agenda.
The event, which takes place at St Georges Hotel in Irene, Pretoria, forms part of the Centre of Memory Community Dialogues 2007-2013 initiative, that aims to develop and sustain a dialogue platform for public discourse on important social issues, and in doing so, contribute to policy decision-making.
The conference, titled "Lessons Learned", is a broad-based conversation about what the series of community conversations has revealed to facilitators, moderators and panellists.
The event will include four dialogue sessions:
- Community engagement, moderated by Dr Mothomang Diaho from Diaho Social Technologies (DST). Panellists for this dialogue are Dr Peter Westoby, Dr Bernd Appelt (GIZ), Dr Malekga (DST) and Imara Rolston
- Community voices, moderated by Tukisang Senne from Mindset. Panellists for this dialogue are Mr Motlatsi Lekuleni, Nozuko Majola (DSD), Olebogeng Nkoliswa, Mamatli Thakhuli-Nzuza and Lesiba Komelane
- Sustainability and ownership, moderated by Dr Tshiwela Neluheni from IHPS. Panellists for this dialogue are Mr Tom Mkhize (Independent), Adv. Ken Mutuma (NMF PMU), Dr Lucas Ngoetjana (UKZN CC), Mr Warren Nebe (DFA, Wits) and Dr Nono Simelela from the Presidency
- Measuring impact, moderated by Lebo Ramafoko from Soul City. Panellists for this dialogue are Dr Kganakga (DSD), Dr Sozi (UNAIDS), Reverend Zwoitwaho Nevhutalo (SANAC) and Debra Ewing (MXA)
