The Nelson Mandela Foundation has been made aware of a fraudulent email currently being circulated that informs the receiver that he/she is the beneficiary of a $1-million donation from the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
The email, which is sent from "Barrister Adrian Holt, the legal attorney to the Nelson Mandela Foundation", reads as follows:
Dear Sir/Madam .
I am the legal attorney to Nelson Mandela Foundation and this is to officially inform you that I have now been authorized by my client to finalize the legal modalities required for the successful disbursement process of the donation sum [ $1,000,000.00 ] to your residential address.
With your full cooperation, I am optimistic that we can finalize this transaction before the end of next week. I have also received the power of attorney with which am to proceed to the High Court for submission of application for the legal document"GRANT OF REPRESENTATION" to be approved on your behalf for the disbursement of your donation funds. It will take 24 hours to provide the document's procured on your behalf in Court.
The grant of Representation entitles you to the total donation sum as the sole beneficiary. We do hope and believe that you have a good heart to help the poor and we are hoping that you will be able to use the money wisely and judiciously over there.We employ you to do what you can to alleviate the level of poverty in your region and also try to enhance the standard of living of as many people as you can because that is the only objective of donating this money to you in the first place. Please be informed also that the foundation will be responsible for the legal fees for the legal processing of the needed documents and more so,
