Making Reading Fun

Join the Nelson Mandela Foundation for our Making Reading Fun programme, aimed at children up to the age of 12. Making Reading Fun events happen periodically – please follow us on X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook or TikTok so you don't miss notifications of the next one.

The Foundation is open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and children and parents who attend Making Reading Fun can also view the permanent exhibition on Nelson Mandela’s life and times and a variety of temporary exhibitions. Please make an appointment here so that we can be ready to welcome you. The Centre of Memory is open to 4pm on Saturdays.

Making Reading Fun was launched on 15 April 2023 to encourage reading and literacy among South Africa’s children, and to impart knowledge of Mandela’s extraordinary life story, and his values, which are celebrated worldwide.
