On 29 November 2018 the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Graça Machel Trust will host an event as part of the "Remembrance period" to mark five years since Madiba’s passing and to recognise the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The event will focus on how we purposefully create a caring society that prioritises women and adolescents and creates the conditions for a dignified life, in a society like South Africa where the murder rate of women is three times the global average and 68.5% of women have experienced forms of sexual violence.
Life Co Nelson Mandela – The Champion Within (offered by the Life College Group, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation) is an exclusively developed academic programme and workshop that provides an intimate and unique view of the life, work, contribution and champion mentality of the late Nelson Mandela. The participant is taken through a process of self-discovery and refinement. Participants better understand and build their own champion mentality, which they apply to all aspects of their lives. An online and interactive post-programme process continues to support the participant's development. Other programmes in The Champion Within Series include Albie Sachs, Raymond Ackerman and John Hunt. An entire team, department or organisation can now benefit from a champion mentality development programme that has an impact and is relevant and measurable.
