Stormjaers: an Afrikaans term meaning 'stormtroopers'.

The Stormjaers were the elite paramilitary wing of the Ossewabrandwag. The Stormjaers were responsible for extreme acts of sabotage in South Africa during World War II, in protest against Jan Smuts' United Party government and its support of the British.

BJ Vorster, South African prime minister from 1966–78, was a Stormjaer general. He was interned at Koffiefontein, Orange Free State, during World war II.
