This resource is hosted by the Nelson Mandela Foundation, but was compiled and authored by Padraig O’Malley. It is the product of almost two decades of research and includes analyses, chronologies, historical documents, and interviews from the apartheid and post-apartheid eras.

Verryn, Paul

Reverend Paul Verryn was a Methodist Minister in the Orlando section of the Jabavu circuit in Soweto. In 1993 he had completed six years ministry there, serving five congregations. He was also involved in training probational ministers in the church and working alongside many of the communities on the Witwatersrand and in the Western Transvaal. This work took him into the informal settlements, townships and grassroots community organisations. He was a counsellor for the Detainees' Counselling Service.
