Anton Harber is a South African journalist, editor, academic and buinessman.

He is the Caxton Professor of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Witwatersrand and has a weekly column on the media in Busniess Day.

He was a founder of BIG Media in 2001.

Harber was a founder and the editor of the Mail and Guardian from 1985 to 1997. He was the editor of several reference works among them the A-Z of South African Politics, Penguin, 1995, and A-Z of South African Politics, Penguin, 1994.
