1967. Defence Amendment Act

This "stipulated that all White 18-year-old men were liable to serve in either the Citizen Force for one year, and then undergo annual training for the next nine years, or in the newly created commando reserve for 60 days, with annual training for the following 19 years" (Riley 1991: 98).
