1956. South Africa Amendment Act No 9

This act formally removed the Coloureds from the common electoral rolls.

Together with the SEPARATE REPRESENTATION OF VOTERS AMENDMENT ACT of 1956 which "regulated the status of Coloured voters" (Riley 1991: 50), this act revalidated the SEPARATE REPRESENTATION OF VOTERS ACT of 1951 (Riley 1991: 50).
