1955. Criminal Procedure & Evidence Amendment Act No 29

This made whipping compulsory punishment for "theft of or from motor vehicles and receiving stolen property" (Dugard 1978: 131). See also the CRIMINAL SENTENCES AMENDMENT ACT of 1952.
