1951. Suppression of Communism Amendment Act

The SUPPRESSION OF COMMUNISM ACT of 1950 was amended "to make it clear that the provisions of the act applied to past as well as present members of the Communist Party or to anyone who was a member of any organization outside South Africa that 'professed by its name or otherwise to be an organisation for propagating the principles or promoting the spread of Communism' " (Riley 1991: 27).
