1945. Native Urban Areas Consolidation Act No 25

Dugard (1978: 422) and Dyzenhaus (1991: 37, note 12) refer to this as the BANTU URBAN AREAS CONSOLIDATION ACT.

It "tightened influx controls" (Fine & Davis 1990: 76), and was one of the many follow-up laws to the NATIVES URBAN AREAS ACT of 1923.

This act also included the first version of the infamous Section 10, and apparently it was not much altered compared to the more often referred-to version in the NATIVES LAWS AMENDMENT ACT of 1952 (see Lazar 1993: 371).

An amendment of this act appeared in 1978.
