On 23 February, 2012 former President Bill Clinton hosted a benefit in his private office in New York to honour the lasting legacy of Nelson Mandela. The event marked the launch of a Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory initiative to promote the Mandela legacy globally in the years ahead.
Supporters from South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Nigeria joined former President Clinton, Minister Tokyo Sexwale and Foundation CEO Achmat Dangor to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela.
